I would recommend it to those who like Urban fiction. JerseyGirl21 Jan 24, This book is about gangs and revenge. I would say it is a good book. I read this book because I really want to but never had time, in tell now. What made me pick this book was the cover looked funny so I read the back and to my surprise, it sounded like a good book. Imagine having the chance to exact revenge for the RP, RT wrong place, wrong time murder of your baby sister.
Imagine standing in an deserted railroad yard with a gun pointed at the back of the killer's head. Would you shoot him?
That's the decision that computer whizkid, Teddy "T-Bear" Anderson has to make after he uses his hacking skills and keen planning ability to create this opportunity. It wasn't easy either. He watches his family falling apart.
His parents marriage is failing and his sibling hate him. He loses his scholarship to a prestigious computer program and a job with the National Security Administration. But he's strong enough to not care and to focus only on revenge.
He can be very patient if he has to be. This is an uncomfortable book to read. Sitomer uses suspense, horror and some very scary situations involving a 12 year old boy whose best options seem to be to join the gang his cousin leads.
The author uses the strong character of a young man who's willing to lose everything to bring the readers to the point where Teddy must decide. The book opens with a description of what kind of person joins a gang, how far she will go for her homeboyz and the street shooting murder of Teddy's innocent 14 year old sister.
This novel, for older readers, is full of violence, anger and, eventually redemption, and is a powerful read.
It would be a good addition to any library that serves reluctant teen readers. Grades Irishdart Apr 11, The novel, Homeboyz, by Alan Sitomer encompasses that revenge should never be an answer.
